Summary and Corporate Profile:

Our client, a leading underground gold mining operation in Ghana, is seeking to recruit a Processing Plant Equipment Operator to join its operations team. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of mobile and fixed equipment within the processing plant, contributing to production targets, equipment reliability, and adherence to environmental and safety standards.

Role Description and Responsibilities:

● Operate various mobile and fixed equipment, including loaders, backhoes, bobcats, forklifts, dozers, and trucks in a safe and efficient manner as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Operations Superintendent.
● Conduct pre-start checks and routine inspections on all machinery, ensuring equipment operates within manufacturer specifications.
● Monitor plant operations to support smooth production flow and minimize downtime.
● Maintain working areas, haul roads, and stockpiles to the required Reduced Level (RL) standards.
● Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and Ghana Minerals Commission regulations.
● Identify and report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, or potential hazards immediately to supervisors.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including keeping equipment cabins tidy.
● Support material handling, cleaning, and minor maintenance activities as assigned.

● Participate actively in pre-shift briefings, safety meetings, and operational updates.
● Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards during all plant activities.
● Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety awareness, and teamwork across operations.
● Perform other tasks and duties assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Operations Superintendent.

Working Experience and Education Requirements:

● Minimum of WASSCE Certificate; a tertiary qualification in a related technical field will be an advantage.
● Sound knowledge of mobile and fixed equipment operation, inspection, and maintenance procedures.
● Experience working in a mining or heavy industrial plant environment is preferred.
● Ability to interpret work instructions, schedules, and safety guidelines.
● A valid Ghanaian Driver’s Licence is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

● Strong understanding of safe machine operation and preventive maintenance.
● Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
● High attention to detail and the ability to make sound operational decisions.
● Physically fit, safety-conscious, and capable of working in demanding conditions.
● Proficiency in completing basic operational reports and equipment logs.
