Summary and Corporate Profile:
Our client, a leading mining operation in Ghana, is seeking to recruit a Resource Geologist. This position plays a critical role in supporting the resource team by delivering accurate and timely block models to ensure effective mine planning. The Resource Geologist is responsible for validating drilling data, producing geological models, conducting grade estimations, and supporting reconciliation processes, all while promoting a strong safety culture and collaborative working environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities

• Monitor drilling data and ensure adherence to QAQC protocols.
• Build geological, structural, and mineralization models using Leapfrog Geo and Geovia Surpac.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and prepare grade estimations using Ordinary Kriging and Inverse Distance Weighting.
• Update grade control and resource models to support short, medium, and long-term mine planning.
• Actively engage in resolving reconciliation discrepancies and highlight opportunities to extend mine life.
• Provide ongoing geological support to mining and processing departments.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly resource reporting, including mine-to-mill and resource-to-mill reconciliations.
• Mentor and evaluate junior technical staff.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Resource Geologist.
• Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the site’s SHE standards and procedures.
• Promote SHE awareness and embed a strong safety culture across the team.
• Report all safety and environmental incidents promptly.
• Show leadership in SHE through consistent behaviour and communication.

Working Experience and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience generating geological block models and using linear estimation techniques.
• Familiarity with mining operations, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Mincom Certification.
• Valid Ghanaian Driver’s License (Class B or better).
• Valid First Aid Certificate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in mining and geological software (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Geovia Surpac, Snowden Supervisor, acQuire, MapInfo).
• Strong geological and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• High level of safety consciousness and attention to detail.
