Summary and Corporate Profile:

Our client, one of the leading mining firms in Ghana with 800 direct staff and 1200 indirect staff, is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer-Mine Services & Infrastructure. The ideal candidate is primarily assisting with the development and implementation of capital projects such as the tailing facility raise construction, processing plant upgrades, paste plant upgrades, and underground civils/ventilation infrastructure. The candidate will further assist with the installation, maintenance, and operation of surface and underground dewatering and water management systems to support safe and efficient mining operations in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

Role Description and Responsibilities

Support the development and execution of major capital projects, including tailing facility raises, plant upgrades, and underground infrastructure.

● Assist with installing, commissioning, and maintaining dewatering systems while driving cost-saving improvements in water management.

● Contribute to the planning, design, and inspection of mine drainage and dewatering systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.

● Collaborate with technical teams to optimize dewatering, paste backfill, cable bolting, and grouting activities to meet production targets.

● Uphold strict safety and environmental standards across all drainage, dewatering, and related mining activities.

● Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor andthe MSI team.
Working Experience and Education Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years’ supervisory and management experience in mining, focusing on capex projects including tailings raises, plant upgrades, paste backfill, water systems, and underground infrastructure.

● Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civils, Mechanical, or an engineering-related field.

● Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission

● Valid First Aid Certificate

● Valid Ghanaian Driver’s Licence

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

● Proficient in using relevant CAD and planning software and tools for project management

● Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

● Proven commitment and integrity.

● Good report writing and analytical skills.

● Data management skills.

● Computer literacy skills: Microsoft Office suite (Word,Excel, and PowerPoint).

● Good leadership and mentoring skills.

● In-depth knowledge of tailing facility design and construction, and SMPP works related to processing plants

● In-depth knowledge of underground and surface dewatering and water infrastructure, pumps, and pipelines

Strong understanding of contract administration and project management in the mining environment

● Knowledge of current health, safety, and environmental regulations.

● In-depth knowledge of the Ghana Mining RegulationLI2182 and other related regulations
